Entries for 2017

Help us decorate the Fort Smith Adult Education's Christmas tree with hats, mittens, gloves and scarves!  All of our "decorations" will be donated to the Next Step Day Room.

The Fort Smith Adult Education Center will not have day or night classes the week of November 20-November 23. Classes will resume on Monday, November 27.

Join us on Wednesday, November 8, for our Open House event from 5-7pm at 501 S. 20th St. Hear success stories, and meet teachers and staff to find out more about our programs. We will have light refreshments. Current students: bring a friend and enter a drawing for a $50 gift card!

Our long term Chief GED Examiner, Kaye Birkhead, passed away last week. After retiring from the Fort Smith Public Schools as a teacher, Kaye began working at the Fort Smith Adult Education Center in 2000.

She was well loved by students and staff, and will be missed. A book memorial has been set up in her honor. Kaye requested that books be donated to the children at the Bright Start Early Learning Center, which serves the children of Adult Education students.

To make a donation in her honor, send a check or children's books to the Fort Smith Adult Education Center, 501 S. 20th, Fort Smith, AR 72901. Please designate on the check that it is for the book memorial.

Attention first time home buyers! Arvest Bank is hosting a free seminar on Monday, October 9 from 8:30-9:00 am or Friday, October 13 from 5:00-5:30 pm for people buying their first house. To reserve a place in the seminar call 709-6439 or email Delmi Sanabria at dsanabria@arvest.com.
