Have you made your New Year's Resolutions for 2015? Do they include getting a GED diploma, going back to college, or learning a new skill that will help you get a better job?  Check out our new Spring 2015 schedules for computer classes, Conversational Spanish, English as a Second Language, Adult Basic Education and GED testing, WAGE and Career Readiness Certificates, and more!  We offer FREE classes day and night, distance education to study at home, and childcare for our students while they are in class.  Make that New Year's Resolution, and start off 2015 at the Fort Smith Adult Education Center!  Classes will resume January 5, 2015.

Dorothy Love has been a student at the Adult Education Center since January 2014.  She is the proud parent of four children and grandparent of five grandchildren.  She enrolled at the Adult Education Center as a result of becoming a dislocated worker after
more than 35 years of service at Whirlpool.

Dorothy has been a model student and is enthusiastic about learning new things.
She has learned many things while being a student at the Adult Education Center.  In addition to upgrading her math skills, she has completed many Microsoft Office courses such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Quickbooks. Additionally, she earned a Career Readiness Certificate.  Her motto is “you learn something new everyday.”  Her achievements are the product of her commitment and attitude. Dorothy always has a smile on her face and projects a positive attitude.  Congratulations, Dorothy!

Help us decorate the Fort Smith Adult Education Center's Christmas Tree! Instead of the usual ornaments, bring a pair of mittens, gloves, scarf or hat for the tree. All items will be donated to the The Next Step Homeless Services.

In addition to being a proven self-starter and model student who is always quick to lend a helping hand to her classmates and instructors, Cecilia Ramos has had a busy year! Just in the past several months, she has obtained her U.S. citizenship, shared her inspirational experiences about learning English as an adult immigrant on the airwaves of La Raza, and earned a job promotion. Her recent accomplishments are but just a few of the many that she is certain to experience as she continues her educational pursuits. If you see her in the hallways of the FSAEC, be sure to give her a well-deserved high five. Congrats, Cecilia!
